Help Save Baby’s of Velpoor Lahari : A Mother’s Plea for Her Kids Life

This is to inform you that Baby of Velpoor Lahari - Twin I and Twin II are currently admitted in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) of Rainbow Children's Hospital, Banjara Hills since 06.07.2025

Baby of Velpoor Lahari Twin I is a 2 month 25 days old baby boy (IP No: IP5-00159438, UHID BAH-00627929), born as an Extreme Preterm (24+5 weeks) with an Extreme Low Birth Weight (600 grams). He was diagnosed with Extreme Prematurity, Extreme Low Birth Weight, Respiratory Distress, Hypotension, Suspected Sepsis, and Severe PPHN. He has been treated with mechanical ventilation, surfactant, IV antibiotics, IV fluids, IV caffeine, inotropic support and incubator care. NG tube feeds have been gradually increased to full feeds. At present, he is hemodynamically stable, maintaining saturation on room air, on NG tube feeding and warmer care. He may require an additional NICU stay of 10-14 days.

Baby of Velpoor Lahari Twin II is a 2 month 25 days old baby girl (IP No: IP5-00159439, UHID: BAH-00627930), born as an Extreme Preterm (24+5 weeks) with an Extreme Low Birth Weight (570 grams). She was diagnosed with Extreme Prematurity, Extreme Low Birth Weight, Respiratory Distress, Suspected Sepsis, Hypotension, Coagulopathy, and Unconjugated Hyperbilirubinemia. She has been managed with mechanical ventilation, surfactant, IV antibiotics, IV fluids, IV caffeine, inotropic support and incubator care. NG tube feeds have been gradually increased to full feeds. At present, she is hemodynamically stable, maintaining saturation on room air, on NG tube feeding and warmer care. She may also require an additional NICU stay of 10-14 days.

Given the extreme prematurity and ongoing medical requirements of both babies, the approximate cost of further NICU care is estimated at 3-4 lakhs
